چکیده

A smooth impact drive mechanism (SIDM) is one type of piezoelectric actuator that has been put into practical use. In previous SIDMs, soft-type multilayered piezoelectric elements with low mechanical quality factors were utilized, which meant it was difficult to generate high output power, and the multilayered structure was an obstacle to further miniaturization. We have proposed a resonant-type SIDM actuator, which has a simple structure, and uses combined resonant vibrations to achieve high output power. In the present study, a simple plate transducer was designed to realize the resonant-type SIDM principle. This compact actuator was composed of a hard-type single-layer piezoelectric element. The stator transducer iezoelectric actuator esonant vibration icro electrical and mechanical system was 10 mm long and 2 mm wide. Instead of a linear slider, a small bearing (6 mm in diameter) was used as a moving part and was successfully driven based on the resonant-type SIDM principle. The voltage frequency was 288.0 kHz for the first mode and 576.0 kHz for the third mode, which was twice that of the first mode. By adjusting the preload and the phase difference between each voltage, the bearing was rotated at 400 rpm. In addition, the driving direction could be reversed by modifying the phase difference.

Resonant-type Smooth Impact Drive Mechanism (SIDM) actuator using a bolt-clamped Langevin transducer.

The Smooth Impact Drive Mechanism (SIDM) is a linear piezoelectric actuator that has seen practically applied to camera lens modules. Although previous SIDM actuators are easily miniaturized and enable accurate positioning, these actuators cannot actuate at high speed and cannot provide powerful driving because they are driven at an off-resonant frequency using a soft-type PZT. In the present s...

a New Resonant Converter Circuit for Reluctance

The purpose of this paper is to introduce a different type of converter circuit used to drive switched reluctance motors. It continues with detailed discussion on the resonant converter armed at minimizing or eliminating the transistors switching losses. Finally the drive has been tested on a disc-type reluctance motor for the perfomance and functionality.

A Comb-Drive Actuator Driven by Capacitively-Coupled-Power

This paper presents a new actuation mechanism to drive comb-drive actuators. An asymmetric configuration of the finger overlap was used to generate capacitive coupling for the actuation mechanism. When the driving voltages were applied on the stators, a voltage would be induced at the rotor due to the capacitive coupling. Then, an electrostatic force would be exerted onto the rotor due to the v...

Miniaturized time-scanning Fourier transform spectrometer based on silicon technology.

We present a miniaturized Fourier transform spectrometer (FTS) based on optical microelectromechanical system technology. The FTS is a Michelson interferometer with one scanning mirror. A new type of electrostatic comb drive actuator moves the mirror. We have measured a nonlinearity of the driving system of +/-0.5 mum for a displacement of 38.5 mum . A method is presented to correct the spectru...

Design, Modeling and Experiments of An In-pipe Magnetostrictive Impact Drive Mechanism

This paper presents a magnetostrictive in-pipe impact drive mechanism (IDM). To estimate the output performances of the IDM, a dynamics model was developed based on the magnetostrictive material constitutive model and mechanical model of the IDM. Therefore, an experimental system has been built to test the motion performance of IDM. Simulation and experimental results illustrate that the propos...
